Atlas VPN is one of the cheapest yet premium VPN providers. The service is fast, reliable and ideal for streaming and downloading. The Atlas VPN app looks fresh and professional. Matters of privacy should be much better, although it is hard to complain when you get a lot for your money for a bit over 1 euro per month.
Atlas VPN scores a 7.6 for its ease of use.
You can easily install Atlas VPN from the Atlas VPN website. You do not have to enter a password when creating an account. Instead, you log in with your email address and a verification code that you will be sent to your email address. You will then remain logged in on your device.
There is a very simple and well-arranged Atlas VPN app on Windows. The Windows app doesn't have many setting options, so you don't have to figure out if a lot of different settings are correct.
On Android and iOS, the application works even better, in my opinion, than on a PC or laptop. The apps look very professional, are nicely laid out and easy to use. When clicking on a server, the VPN connection is established very quickly.
The relatively high battery consumption on the smartphone is a point for concern. It would also be nice if the software was available in all languages.
Atlas VPN works on tablet, smartphone, laptop and PC and has apps for the following operating systems:
Unfortunately, there is no support for other devices, such as routers or a NAS. There is also no app for Linux.
A big advantage with Atlas VPN is that you can enjoy unlimited simultaneous connections of multiple devices via one account. I wish all VPN providers offered unlimited simultaneous connections!

A disadvantage of Atlas VPN is that customer service is somewhat difficult to reach. Once you are logged in to the secure online environment on the website, there is no link to an email address or support page.
If you do some searching, you will find is a help section on Atlas VPN's website, which lists the contact as support@atlasvpn.com. This is the only way to get in touch with customer service. Atlas VPN has no live chat option.
Fortunately, I received an answer to my question the same day I sent it to them.
Atlas VPN scores a 6.9 for its privacy and security offerings.
The location of the Atlas VPN's headquarters is important, as it determines the extent to which it is possible for government agencies and secret services to obtain user data.
Atlas VPN is now headquartered in the United States (Delaware). This is not exactly the best location for VPN users concerned about internet connection privacy. The US is in the Five Eyes alliance, in which justice takes priority over privacy.
Nevertheless, Atlas VPN claims to have a ‘no logs’ policy. This means that no user data or activities are stored, such as your IP address or browser history.
As a user, you do receive a so-called ‘random identifier’. This means that certain (anonymous) data is kept, such as:
In the context of 100% privacy, I would have preferred that these kinds of logs were not kept.
Atlas VPN recently started offering two choices of protocols, IKEv2 and WireGuard. Although these are very secure protocols, it would have been nicer if users could also use the OpenVPN protocol. OpenVPN is currently not supported.
Atlas VPN uses 256-bit AES and SSL/TLS encryption. Atlas also has ‘safeswap’ servers where the IP address changes constantly, for a little additional privacy.
Finally, Atlas VPN has a kill switch. A kill switch ensures that all your internet traffic is routed through the VPN.
ProXPN Expert Tip
In 2021, VerSprite's cybersecurity experts tested Atlas VPN's iOS app to assess its security. It found some minor vulnerabilities. It should be understood these what it found only affects the VPN service itself and not individual users. The audit confirmed that cybercriminals cannot access sensitive user data or company information on Atlas VPN. In addition to this, immediately after the audit, Atlas repaired the vulnerabilities that VerSprite found.
Atlas VPN scores a 6.8 for its offering of options and possibilities.
Atlas VPN has approximately 700 servers, which are spread over approximately 27 countries. The number of server locations could have been a little higher, but for most VPN users this is more than sufficient. Unfortunately, you can't manually choose a server, only a country (or server location). The free version of Atlas VPN only has 3 servers, including 1 in the Netherlands, for example.
Atlas VPN is suitable for streaming via Netflix, Disney+, Ziggo Go (HBO), NPOStart and many other popular streaming services. The US streaming servers also work fine, so you also get access to US libraries. Unfortunately, we couldn't get Amazon Prime to work. You can also download torrent files with Atlas VPN.
Streaming platform | Working |

Atlas VPN has few extra features, except for these two:
Unfortunately, there is no support for split tunneling or a dedicated IP address.
You can test the Atlas VPN free version for as long as you want: no time limits on their free VPN services! You can also try out the premium version for 30 days with a money-back guarantee.
Although the privacy offerings at Atlas VPN are not as strict as they might be, this VPN service can boast a lot of speed, reliability and performance for what you pay for it.
After reading this Atlas VPN review, do you think you will try their VPN services?
Advanced security setup. Atlas VPN provides all of the safety and privacy advantages listed above: strong encryption, data tunneling, private DNS, Kill Switch, and more.
There aren't any restrictions on the number of devices you may connect to your premium account, and there's no need to pay for the premium service per device. You may link as many devices as you want with Atlas VPN Premium membership and browse anonymously.
We repeat each test five times with WireGuard and OpenVPN (where available), then repeat them again several hours later. Atlas VPN doesn't support OpenVPN, but its IKEv2 speeds were reasonable in the UK at a mid-range 200-225Mbps.
Yes, Atlas VPN is suitable for downloading torrents since it provides both free and premium subscription options with P2P compatibility.
Atlas VPN is one of the few providers to provide a free version, and it shouldn't be overlooked. It's also worth noting that this plan has a 10 GB data limit, so downloading and streaming big media files won't be your finest option.
